Bantry House is built high on the ridge overlooking the town, harbour & bay of Mossel Bay. The Outiniqua Mountains in the background form a very spectacular backdrop to what is one of the most stunning & unspoilt views in the Cape.
Bantry House is built "into" the hillside to maximise the views & you can see the sea in all its moods from every room in the house as well as from the pool deck, the stoeps & the garden. Mossel Bay is in the Guinness Book of Records as having the second most temperate climate (the least summer / winter variation) in the world after Hawaii & this makes for an all year round destination.

All rooms are sea facing & have the most wonderful views across the bay to the Outiniqua mountains. Watch Dolphins, whales & seals play & frolic in the warm water of the Indian Ocean as you relax on the pool deck. Close to the best swimming beach (and the only true north facing beach) in the Southern Cape (summer water temp is about 23 deg & is very pleasant).

We have 4 luxury en-suite rooms. All rooms have full air-conditioning & heating, fridges (stocked with a selection of cool drinks & a complimentary carafe of a local wine), direct dial telephones, tea & coffee making facilities & dedicated modem points. All are tastefully furnished & open directly on to the pool deck. The pool is heated all year round. Pool and beach towels are supplied. All rooms have hair dryers.

A full English breakfast is served & guests can enjoy this either on the pool deck, in the main house or at the Cottage Shop (one of the oldest houses in Mossel Bay & built on the very spot where Dias himself landed in 1488). Braai (bar-b-que) facilities are available for guests' use. Lunches and evening meals by request only.

The whole of Bantry House, including the pool deck, stoeps, bedrooms etc are strictly non-smoking.
