St Helena Bay is one of the most popular bays for whales to visit and calve. They can be spotted all year round, but especially from August to November when "close encounters" are frequent, schools of dolphins (sometimes several hundred), can be seen at anytime of the year, chasing shoals of fish or just leaping from the waves with pure joy.

There are wonderful beaches for walking, or go mussel picking off the rocks, boat trips can be arranged, (every thing from Luxury Cruiser to Kayaking), there are 5 golf courses in the area, the Fossil Park, birdwatching, restaurants, etc, all in a very safe environment.
