The
award winning 12,000ha Entabeni Game Reserve is situated
in the magnificent, malaria free Waterberg, a comfortable
3 hrs drive from Johannesburg. Unique features of this area
include spectacular scenery consisting of grasslands surrounded
by mountains, a 1,5km long lake, a 2000ft escarpment, diverse
wildlife and Big 5 game viewing.
A choice of luxury accommodation is offered
between Lakeside Lodge, Ravineside Lodge, Wildside Camp,
Kingfisher Lodge, Hangklip Mountain Lodge & Eagle's Nest.
Entabeni offers diverse scenery & wildlife. Various
dining venues including five restaurants & seven bomas,
conference facilities, a cultural village with tribal
dancing and a wellness/beauty centre are offered. Enjoy
guided game drives/walks, horseback safaris and helicopter
flights, for an experience "beyond comparison".

The rangers often encounter lion on drive, but the lions
prefer the bushveld environment, and are usually only
found on the lower escarpment where they often pass through
the camps. Rangers and guests have often witnessed our
highly efficient lions on the hunt. Elephants roam the
reserve and are often encountered in the vast wilderness
areas, and make for awesome viewing (sometimes with the
armed ranger and guests viewing on foot). Rhinoceros are
very frequently encountered, and often even in the lodge
gardens. We also have a good population of the dangerous
Cape buffalo. These large bovid's look harmless but can
be a highly dangerous member of the animal community.
The ever elusive leopard can also be seen if you are lucky, with an average of 6 to 17 sightings per month for the
last year. This animal, however, is a highly elusive,
shy and beautiful creature of which even a fleeting glance
is a privilege and definitely a highlight of any safari.
