In an exclusive agreement between service
providers, we can now offer Night Safaris and Bush Dinners
in the Kruger National Park to visitors staying outside.
Further to this, we offer day meals at these exclusive
sites combined with our full and half day safaris. We
know that most visitors have eaten in restaurants all
over the world but none have experienced the thrill of
a fully laden table in the bush. Now you can experience
that special thrill of being driven in an open vehicle
and eating a traditional meal in the bush in the KRUGER
NATIONAL PARK.
The
trip to the site has its own special appeal as one anticipates
the possibility of sighting game which abounds in the
Park. Driven by a knowledgeable Ranger who ensures enjoyment
and safety. As one is driven into the bush, the natural
flora seems both welcoming yet foreign and intimidating.
You arrive at the site which has a warm,
natural and welcoming feel, greeted by staff who have
been setting up in your honour. Fires, paraffin torches
and lamps take you back in time yet give you a feeling
of security and protection. The ambiance could be interrupted
by the roar of a Lion, the cough of a Bush Buck or the
crash of branches as Elephant forage nearby. All the sounds
of the wild African bush suddenly cascade into your consciousness
and the fire becomes more of an ally.
With friendly competent staff at your
beck and call, the consumption of pre meal drinks sharpens
the senses and the whole African theme consumes the imagination.
The preparation of food on open fires fills the air with
rich aroma’s and the spread of side dishes and condiments
remind one of Nature’s bounty.
Called
to the table, the food is a culinary delight, the edges
of the meat crisp from the lick of flames creating a unique
flavour. Salads and side dishes fresh and appealing, indeed
a feast in the African bush. Rounded off with dessert,
coffee and tea, it is time to savour the moment. The whoop
of Hyena who have smelt the meat signals their arrival.
Guests board the open vehicle with farewell
greetings from the staff of
“Siyabonga, figa foote”, “thank you,
please come again”. As the fires fade into the bush
it seems that all too soon you are on your way back, but
it is not over yet, the Ranger will give you a drive to
remember. With a powerful torch you will probe the bush
to expose the many predators such as the elusive Leopard
and other nocturnal animals which are active at this hour.
All your senses will carry this experience
back with you and your trusty camera will record it for
others. This is a unique experience, don’t miss
it.
