Gecko Lodge is tucked away in the
Sabie River Valley amongst indigenous forests, and set in pleasant
garden surroundings. Situated only 3km from Hazyview, on the
Hazyview/Sabie Road, Gecko Lodge is the ideal base from which to
explore the Kruger National Park or the Lowveld Panorama including
God’s Window and Pilgrim’s Rest.
Gecko Lodge has 27 comfortable rooms, each with an en-suite bathroom,
ceiling fan, tea tray, fine bed linen and a safe. A daily laundry
service is available. The lodge is owner managed, and the focus is on
comfort, quality service and good food.
After a generous
full English breakfast, guests can take a scenic walk through the
forest to the Sabie River, enjoying the spectacular bird life, or they
can soak up the sun at the lodge’s rock pool.
Management will be happy to arrange safaris in open vehicles in the
Kruger Park, or organise any of the numerous activities in the vicinity
including guided nature walks, hot air ballooning, horse riding, quad
trails, river rafting or a visit to Shangana Cultural Village. The
newest of Hazyview’s adventure attractions is the Aerial Cable Trail,
which departs from Gecko Lodge.
In Gecko Lodge’s restaurant guests can choose an excellent South Africa
wine from the
extensive selection, and enjoy a superb dinner in the
spacious dining room or under the African sky.
Gecko Lodge is also an ideal venue for a small and intimate wedding, or
for a function for up to 60 guests. There is a small wedding chapel on
the property and lodge staff will organise the entire wedding,
including the Minister/Celebrant, photographer, hair dresser, catering,
full bar, cake etc.
Gecko Lodge is 2.5 Kms from Hazyview on Route 536 and only 15 minutes
from the Kruger Park. In the area you will find Kruger safaris, night
safaris, balloon trips, chopper flips, river rafting, horseback rides,
quad bikes, bass fishing and lots more. Kruger Mpumalanga International
Airport transfers or self drive, only 45 minutes away.
