Unspoilt African bush with unparalleled natural scenery. This is where you will find Iketla Lodge. Located on the northern end of the Panorama Route, near the Blyde River Canyon, Iketla is a nature retreat offering a place of peace, tranquillity and total relaxation.

Iketla literally means "be relaxed" and the facilities at the lodge encourage guests to do exactly that. A central thatched area houses the lounge, dining area and bar and has stunning views of the surrounding mountains. An open sundeck overlooks a sparkling pool.

A maximum of 12 guests per day, are accommodated in spacious stone-and-thatch cottages - all with en-suite facilities and private patios. Cottages overlook a natural valley with a spectacular amphitheatre of mountains and cliffs.

Guests can relax around the pool, enjoy nature walks or mountain biking in the bush. Routes, varying from 30 minutes to 5+ hours, are well marked and safe. Enjoy the natural scenery, large variety of birds or from various look-out points, even spot wild animals that roam freely in the area.

A Continental / English breakfast as well as a light lunch are served in the dining area. At night, traditional South African cuisine is served under the stars, around the camp fire in the Boma.

Iketla Lodge is situated a mere 3 ½ hours drive from Johannesburg / Pretoria and is on the route to the Kruger National Park and many private game reserves and lodges. It is the ideal base from which to explore the Panorama Route with its spectacular Blyde River Canyon, numerous waterfalls, huge potholes, God's Window, historic Pilgrim's Rest, the Echo Caves and the Museum of Man.

Iketla Lodge is owned and managed by Albert & Hennielene Botha. They previously owned and managed a private game lodge in the greater Kruger Park area for 9 years. It has long been their dream to establish a nature retreat where guests can be totally relaxed. They have vast experience in the hospitality industry and their hallmark has always been their personal service and attention to detail.
