Located on the south-western corner of the Kruger National Park, there are no restricting fences, thus enabling the animals to roam freely just as nature intended. Kirkman’s Kamp, with its spectacular views of the unspoilt wilderness and the Sand River, is regarded as one of the best loved lodges in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve. A well known historic camp, originally built in the early 1920’s Kirkman's Kamp celebrates the atmosphere of an early South African lowveld homestead.

The colonial atmosphere of gracious style and luxury has been retained, and guests step back in time upon entering the original homestead, which now houses the Lodge’s sitting, bar and dining areas. Each of the 18 guest cottages has a private veranda and is furnished in the same charming style.

The large sitting room, with a 1920’s ambience, leads through double French doors onto rolling lawns that provide a velvety contrast to the wild and tumbling bush surrounding the Lodge. Breakfast and lunch are served on shady verandas, and dinners are shared in the dramatic boma or in romantic lantern lit bush settings.

Game-drives at Kirkman's Kamp are made memorable not only by frequent sightings of Africa's Big Five. Experienced CC Africa rangers and trackers will lead you on morning and afternoon/evening game-drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles. The Sabi Sand Game Reserve and Kruger National Park are of the finest Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino) game destinations in Africa and you have an excellent chance of spotting the elusive leopard.

Interpretive bush walks
Explore the Sabi Sand Game Reserve on interpretive wilderness walks led by experienced CC Africa rangers or expert Shangaan trackers, and learn more about the area’s intriguing fauna and flora. Guided bush walks bring you face-to-face with wild Africa at its best.

Child policy
Children aged 6 to 11 pays 50% of the adult rate when sharing with 1 or 2 adults. Where a separate room is booked for 2 or 3 children (all aged 6 to 11) the first child pays the full adult rate and the 2nd and 3 children pays 50% of the adult rate each. Game drives for children aged 6 to 11 are at the discretion of the lodge manager. Safari walk are only allowed for persons older than 16.
