THE 2009/2010 CRUISE SEASON SAW THE ARRIVAL OF THE FINEST FLOATING HOTEL THAT SOUTH AFRICA HAS EVER SEEN - THE MSC SINFONIA. She
will be returning to South Africa for a 4th time during the 2012/2013
season for 38 local cruises (28 NOVEMBER 2012 to 14 APRIL 2013) ranging
from 2 to 11 nights. Cruises will operate from Durban to destinations
such as Mozambique, Mauritius, Reunion & Madagascar. At 58600 tons
and close to 2,100 passengers, the MSC SINFONIA is the largest and most
modern ship to have ever operated from a South African port. The Liner
hosts 778 cabins, of which 135 are suites with private balconies. The
ship also boasts 3 restaurants, 7 bars, 2 pools, spa, business and
conference centre, internet café, casino, cigar room, disco,
fitness centre, golf simulator, library, card room, mini club, teen’s
club, exchange office and medical centre. The Southbound (19 nights)
& Northbound (18 nights) cruises between Italy and South Africa now
follows a West Africa itinerary (to completely remove any threat to its
passengers from Somali pirates), departing from Genoa in Italy and Cape
Town in South Africa. The new West Coast itinerary has been expertly
designed to offer a stimulating and varied combination of city life,
ancient sites, wildlife, beaches and beautiful landscapes.
The MSC Melody will also be
returning, offering 15 local cruises (12 DECEMBER 2012 to 26 FEBRUARY
2013) and once again including a selection of Cape Town cruises and a
Mauritius cruise at the end of January 2012. Cruises will operate from
Cape Town as well as Durban to destinations such as Namibia, Mozambique,
Mauritius, Reunion, Madagascar & (for the first time) St Helena.
The Southbound (18 nights) & Northbound (20 nights) cruises between
Italy and South Africa follows a similar route to the MSC Sinfonia.

NOVEMBER 2012. DURING THIS TIME CRUISES TAKE PLACE IN EUROPEAN WATERS

how full the cruise is. For a VERY limited time this special is also

Senior Citizens (Age 60+) Discount
10% Off Per person on all cruises 4 nights or less & 5% Off Per

Student Specials
Minimum 4 Passengers 18-35 years sharing one cabin. Inside cabin @

African waters from 09 November 2010 to 03 May 2011 for just under 6
months before returning north to Europe. 47 Local cruises are scheduled
(excluding the southbound and northbound cruises and including an
11-night Mauritius cruise cruise over New Year as well as a 6-night
cruise over Christmas 2010). During the 2011/2012 season, The MSC
Sinfonia will be cruising the South African waters from 08 November
2011 to 30 March 2012 for just under 5 months before returning north to
Europe. 39 Local cruises are scheduled (excluding the southbound and
northbound cruises and including an 11-night Mauritius cruise cruise
over New Year as well as a 5-night cruise over Christmas 2011).
Rates exclude:
- mandatory port charges of R300 to R500 per person once-off
- travel insurance of approximately R10 to R25 per person per day
- ticket courier charges
- optional airport shuttles

waters from 06 December 2011 to 20 February 2012 for 2.5 months before
returning north to Europe. 18 Local cruises are scheduled (excluding
the southbound and northbound cruises and including a 10-night
Mauritius cruise cruise over Christmas, a 11-night Mauritius cruise at
the end of January as well as a two 6-night cruises, exciting new
destinations and cruises from/to Cape Town).

GENERAL INFORMATION
INCLUDED
Accommodation, travel insurance, port charges and all meals as well as
all entertainment onboard, library, games, popular movies and the use
of gym and fitness equipment.
EXCLUDED
Flights, medical services, beauty centre treatments, drinks, tips,
gambling, video games, golf simulator (Sinfonia), Internet, phone calls
& shopping money as well as cost for optional airport shuttles and
on-land excursions and purchases. 24-Hour room service is excluded
except for breakfast.
TICKETING
An e-ticketing system is used to send all documentation via e-mail.
TRAVEL INSURANCE
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS A COMPULSORY TRAVEL INSURANCE OF R11 PER
PASSENGER (OLDER THAN 12) PER DAY ON ALL CRUISES OF 7 NIGHTS OR LESS.
ON CRUISES OF 8-NIGHTS AND LONGER THE INSURANCE AMOUNT IS R22 PER
PASSENGER (AGED 12 OR OLDER) PER DAY. THIS IS PAYABLE IN FULL TOGETHER
WITH THE INITIAL DEPOSIT.
MSC STARLIGHT TERMS & CONDITIONS
Rates exclude port charges & travel insurance. A non-refundable
deposit of R1,500 per person (passengers 1 & 2) plus the mandatory
travel insurance (all passengers older than 12) is payable within 48
hours of making a reservation. Outstanding payments must be made no
later than 60 days before the cruise departure date. Rates are to be
used as a guide only and does not always reflect current availability
regarding cabin types - full quotes based on availability will be
provided when enquiries are received. Fares are subject to currency
fluctuations and fuel surcharges. Contact us to make arrangements to
pay for your cruise in monthly instalments.
SINGLE TRAVELLERS
For single travellers requiring their own cabins there is a 50%
surcharge on the normal rate (selected cabin types only, 100% in
suites). Single passengers prepared to share a cabin with someone of
the same sex qualify for the standard sharing rates, even if no
suitable sharing partner is found by Starlight Cruises (selected cabin
types only and not available on peak season cruises).
SINGLE PARENTS
A single adult cruising alone with their child or children in the same
cabin pays the normal twin sharing rate. The first child will pay 50%
of the normal twin sharing rate. The 2nd or 3rd child pays the normal
3rd/4th person rate. At least one child must be 12 years or under to
qualify for the above.
CHILDREN RATES
A maximum of 2 children (under the age of 18 on the departure day of
the cruise) travel for FREE when sharing a cabin with 2 full paying
adults. This offer excludes the applicable port & baggage handling
charges, insurance and any fuel or currency supplements that may apply.
On PEAK SEASON cruises this offer is limited and subject to
availability and approval.
3RD AND 4TH PERSON RATES
Rates for 3rd and 4th persons sharing a cabin with 2 full fare paying
passengers are available in selected categories at approximately one
third of the normal rates. All passengers pay full port & baggage
handling charges while all passengers older than 12 pay full travel
insurance.

BOOKING CHANGES
Ticket and name changes can be made free of charge up to 30 days prior
to the departure date but normal ticket delivery charges will apply to
tickets already delivered. Changes after this time will incur a cost of
R300 to R500 PER CHANGE. Cruise changes can be made free of charge up
to 60 days prior to the departure date but normal ticket delivery
charges will apply to tickets already delivered. Changes after this
time will incur a cost of R500 to R1,000 PER CHANGE depending on the
number of days from departure. No changes whatsoever can be made within
7 days of the departure date.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Most cruises depart around 13:00 and arrive back around 08:00. For
flight purposes, boarding commences two to three hours before departure
and disembarking again takes two to three hours before all passengers
have disembarked. A shuttle service is available between the airport
and the harbour on all departure and arrival days at an additional
cost. NOTE THAT ALL CRUISES (EXCEPT THE 2-NIGHT NOWHERE CRUISES AND
CRUISES THAT ONLY VISIT SOUTH AFRICAN PORTS) REQUIRE A VALID PASSPORT
FOR ALL PASSENGERS, IRRESPECTIVE OF AGE.
FOR ALL QUOTES, PLEASE PROVIDE THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE PER CABIN,
INCLUDING THE AGES ON THE DAY OF DEPARTURE OF ANY CHILDREN,
