Tangala is one of the last remaining authentic experiences in South Africa that have been a legacy of the family for more than 3 generations.

This intimate and exclusive private safari camp is situated in the 22 000 acre Thornybush Private Nature Reserve, a prime ecological area abounding in wildlife.

Guests can expect to see lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, cheetah, buffalo, giraffe, zebra and other general game on game drives, ss well as exciting bird watching.

Tangala succeeded in maintaining its earthly appeal after the recent upgrading of our facilities. We continually strive to recreate the original down to earth hospitality of years gone by.

FACILITIES
- 4 x twin bed en suite thatched chalets each with private verandah
- 1 x en suite chalet with king size bed and 2 single beds private verandah and timber viewing deck (Ideal for families or honeymooners)
- Central entertaining area with bar, dining/breakfast area, boma, lounge, swimming pool and deck

Cooking is performed on either gas or open fire. Our cuisine has been specially created to reflect Africa in all her moods. Meals are social occasions and a time to listen and share fascinating tales of the bush or to sit back and reflect on the day passed. Meals include a full breakfast/brunch, high tea, snacks and boma dinner.

Wine connoisseurs from the Cape have designed our comprehensive wine list, and all dietary and culinary requirements are met at Tangala.

We offer a shuttle service between Hoedspruit/Eastgate airport and Tangala as well as from the other airports. Rates available on request. No arrivals before 14:00. Departures not later than 12:00.
