Welcome to the Thornhill Safari Lodge, located within the Greater Kruger Park ecosystem, a mere 40 km from Kruger Park’s Orpen gate. This is a premier eco-tourist destination, with ever-present views of the Drakensberg Escarpment. Situated in a conservancy, surrounded by various well-known Big Five private game Reserves and within close proximity to all the popular tourist attractions. The conservancy is home to a wide diversity of general game species, thus making it the perfect setting for both guided and self-guided game walks.

The Thornhill Safari Lodge blends in with its natural surroundings and ensures a true African bush experience. Whether it be the lodge management, game rangers or kitchen staff, our team are passionate about what they so and will attend to your every need. We cater for all dietary requirements and specialize in traditional bushveld cuisine.

The lodge offers an affordable getaway with comfortable accommodation in eight authentic thatch roof chalets; vibrant fabrics and local hardwood furniture all create that rustic yet comfortable bush atmosphere. All bedrooms have en suite facilities, overhead fans, mosquito nets and wooden decks that overlook the surrounding bushveld. Facilities include a lounge, bar, swimming pool, thatched and open air boma, where traditional dinners are served around a log fire. Apart from the game drives and game walks, the lodge also offers optional daily excursions to places of local interest. Game drives are conducted in open 4x4 vehicles accompanied by rangers and trackers.

We cater for group bookings, individual guests on self-drives, fly in safaris and honeymoon couples. Transfers can be arranged from both Eastgate and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airports.

The Thornhill Safari Lodge is a five-hour drive from Johannesburg or Pretoria and a two-hour drive from Nelspruit. The lodge is situated a mere 40 km from Kruger’s Orpen Gate and within easy access to Eastgate and Kruger Mpumalanga International Airports.
