This is the "Place of the Rhino". Built on a hilltop, the newly refurbished, luxurious Tshukudu Bush Lodge offers sweeping views of the malaria-free Pilanesberg National Park. Offering only six luxury cottages, attention to detail and personalised service is guaranteed.

Each cottage has been uniquely designed and has its own private balcony offering potential sightings of over 80 species of wild animals, including the Big Five, as well as 360 bird species. Please note that there are 132 steps to climb to the lodge.

You can be assured that the 6 luxury cottages at Tshukudu receive our personal attention with regard to every detail. Each unit has its own private balcony offering sweeping views of the park and waterhole. One double bed, two single beds, open plan lounge with fireplace, sunken bath overlooking the plains, shower over bath, fully stocked mini bar, bird books, magazines, plug points, hair dryer, tea/coffee making facilities and a safety deposit box.

After high tea, guests are taken on a 3 hour game drive. Another game drive is available in the mornings, with the option of an escorted game walk. All game activities are conducted by experienced field guides. Special interest trails can be arranged for our guests. Drives are included in the rates.

When you visit Tshukudu, we ask that you leave all the trappings of city life behind - including your car. Guest vehicles can be parked in protected bays at Bakubung Bush Lodge.

Experience the silence by a blazing fire at night and enjoy food of international standard and African flavour accompanied by a wine from our splendid selection. By day, you can laze by the rock plunge pool.

We find that our guests are most content to spend time at the lodge, drinking in the meditative silence and holding the wide, open plains in awe. But they never leave without tracking down the Big Five in the Pilanesberg National Park, on game walks or drives.

Transfers between Pilanesberg Airport and Tshukudu can be arranged at a charge.
