When
the sun set on the historic tied match between Ernie Els
and Tiger Woods in the 2003 President's Cup, a new era in
golf was born - an affirmation of the sporting spirit in
golf and the emergence of the Garden Route as one of the
worlds great golfing destinations.
Set on the Southern east coast of South Africa, with a year
round
temperate climate and magnificent surroundings where Mother
Nature reigns supreme, are twelve of the finest golf courses
to be found anywhere. With a further three new championship
courses opening for play over the next two years, the Garden
Route is the unchallenged golf coast of Africa. Friendly
courtesy, efficiency and good, old-fashioned guest care
are the hallmarks of the Garden Route.
Non-golfing attractions are numerous and special, with lush
forests, pristine beaches, activities such as whale watching,
the largest primate sanctuary in the world and a number
of game parks within easy driving distance. High quality
accommodation and a host of excellent restaurants round
out a memorable vacation experience.
