 Valley
Lodge is a charming and tranquil 4-star retreat on the banks
of the Magalies River, a luxurious country getaway only
an hour from Johannesburg and Pretoria. Idyllic surroundings,
with swimming pool, tennis courts, golf centre, gym, bird
sanctuary and more
The lodge prides itself on it's delicious old fashioned
country cooking. An appetising and hearty buffet breakfast
is included in the bed and breakfast tariff.
 The
highlight of the week is without a doubt the Sunday lunch
time carvery. The carvery offers guests a choice of starters,
a selection of main dishes, coupled with an array of freshly
cooked vegetables and country fresh salads.
For dessert there is a selection of puddings,
tarts, cakes and fruits - a veritable feast to be reckoned
with.
Lounge lizards can curl up or stretch
out in the spacious sitting room with open fireplaces,
leading onto a patio overlooking the pool and thatched
poolside summer house - The Cashan. The Cashan has been
named after the chief of the Tlokwa tribe, whose people
originally lived just north of the Magaliesburg before
being driven out by the Ndebele.

The elegantly thatched Cashan function room overlooks
the Olympic - size swimming pool, while the naturally
beautiful riverbank offers wedding guests the ideal setting
to savour champagne under the trees! The honeymoon suites
offer privacy and a breathtaking view of the calmly flowing
river, leafy trees and nature reserve.
Activities
For ardent fishermen, there is fishing in the Magalies
River. The natural beauty of the surroundings ensure a
relaxing, peaceful experience.
For
outdoor lovers there are a variety of hiking trails, scenic
walks and historic explorations, not only along the river
valley but also in the game park and bird sanctuary and
through the Magaliesburg hills - an idyllic dream for
bird watchers, nature lovers and those who are interested
in the history of the area.
In
the nature reserve Zebra, Wildebeest, Ostrich and several
species of buck reside happily. Several species of tortoises
arrived in the bird sanctuary recently, while hedgehog
will be arriving soon to complete the picture!
Boats
are available for paddling on the river. Our sparkling
Olympic size pool is ideal for summer entertainment.
The
lodge offers a myriad of recreational and sporting facilities,
including a golf centre which incorporates bunker shots,
pitching, chipping and putting for both the casual and
serious golfer. Gym and Tennis are available for the more
energetic and volleyball and basket ball are also offered..
