Vula Tours & Kaapsehoop Horse Trails (Kruger Park)Kaapsehoop Horse Trails, established in 1994, is a professional and personalised trail riding operation. Your hosts have many years trail riding experience and have the reputation of offering good-old-fashioned hospitality. The need was identified for a getaway that is affordable, and enjoyable for the whole family.

Vula – meaning “open” in the Zulu language, describes the openness of our Kruger National Park experiences. Get closer to nature in our open game vehicle and experience the sounds, smells and sights of the African bush.

7 DAY ADVENTURE OF HORSE TRAILS AND OPEN VEHICLE SAFARIS IN THE KRUGER NATIONAL PARK

Vula Tours & Kaapsehoop Horse Trails (Kruger Park)Day 1
Met by Vula Tours at the Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport and transferred to Kaapsehoop Horse trails, Introduction, meal and an introductory horse ride. Dinner and overnight at Kaapsehoop Horse Trails.

Day 2
After breakfast, depart on the Wilderness trail, via Kaapsehoop (an old mining town) and the Blue Swallow Reserve. Gallop alongside and view the wild horses and herds, these herds have roamed the Kaapsehoop Mountains for the past hundred years. Enjoy lunch at the bush camp, followed by an afternoon walk to view old mines and magnificent waterfalls high above the Barberton valley.
Whilst relaxing next to a log fire enjoy dinner under the stars before retiring to your comfortable tents.

Day 3
Breakfast for man and horse, set off on a full day ride along the magnificent Drakensberg and through some of the largest man made pine and eucalyptus Vula Tours & Kaapsehoop Horse Trails (Kruger Park)forests in the world, viewing wild horses and the fantastic Panorama over the Barberton valley rumoured to have the oldest rock formation in the world. The Hazy Mountains to the east where the famous Kruger National Park lies, Enjoy a picnic lunch while on the look out for the rare and notorious black leopard. Small game and animals are also spotted frequently. Return to the bush camp and relax over a camp-fire cooked meal.

Day 4
After breakfast and an early start back to Kaapsehoop Horse Trails where you will enjoy a warm shower have lunch repack and depart for the Kruger National Park with Vula Tours in an open game drive vehicle. In the Kruger Park, always be on the lookout for the many animals & birds including the famous Big Five (Leopard, Lion, Elephant, Rhino, and Buffalo). At sunset we arrive at the magical Hippo Hollow Country Estate situated on the banks of the mighty Sabie River. Dinner will be on the veranda while Hippo grazing on the bank of the river set the scene. Overnight in comfortable chalets, popular for its “Out of Africa” theme.

Day 5
An early start from Hippo Hollow on a ten seater open game viewer to the Kruger National Park will deem yet another adventure in search for animals that were not Vula Tours & Kaapsehoop Horse Trails (Kruger Park)seen the day before. Enjoy the fantastic picnic breakfast then relax in the mid day heat. Lunch and a late afternoon drive. Dinner and overnight back at Hippo Hollow, perhaps spending the evening with traditional Shangaan dancers, beating on the drums and stirring deep emotions of traditional Africa.

Day 6
Today offers more adventure, with your esteemed ranger showing you the smaller secrets of the bush. A diversity of fauna and flora abound in the bushveld and make for interesting bird-viewing, as well as spotting creatures belonging to the lesser known ‘Little 5’. Back at Hippo Hollow; enjoy the serene gardens, perhaps a relaxing drink in the popular bar? Dinner to be served at Hippo Hollow. Retire to the night sounds of Africa.

Day 7
A short safari brings the week to an end at the Kruger Mpumalanga Airport where the new friends will say goodbye to only return next year for another amazing adventure…

WHAT TO BRING:
Riding and safari clothing, prepare for hot and cold conditions, Sleeping bag, footwear, sandals, swimming gear, hat for riding and sun - recommend a fitted riding hat, sun block and cream, camera, torch, malaria tabs.

Language: English and Afrikaans
Riding Weights: Maximum 95 kg
Ability: Riders must be experienced riders that can walk - trot and be comfortable in a strong canter
Diet requirements: Clients are to advise any special diet requirements
Flights: International and Local are for clients own account
Liability: Neither Kaapsehoop Horse trails, Vula Tours, Hippo Hollow or Go Single Travel accept any liability; all clients are to have updated travel and medical insurance
Horses: Crossbred Horses are used that will be allocated to the riders ability; the animals are our pride and joy and are the most valuable asset
Saddles: English and trail saddles are used
Safari vehicle: A ten seater open air game viewer which is fully weather proof, complete with high back.
