The
Addo Elephant National Park is situated in the Eastern
Cape Province 72km by road from Port Elizabeth. Proclaimed
in 1931 to save the last survivorsof the once numerous
Eastern Cape elephants, the park consists of 12,126ha
of gently undulating Valley Bushveld dominated mostly
by the Spekboom, Portulacaria afra, which covers approximately
80% of the park area.
 Zuurberg
Mountain Inn is a haven of historical delight set high
up on the Zuurberge, and has a peaceful & truly unique
mountain top retreat, set in 160 hectares of indigenous
vegetation, with breathtaking views overlooking the Addo
Elephant National Park. In this day and age it is difficult
to visualise this mountain retreat as having been on the
main route to the hinterland. The old pass was used by
diamond and gold diggers, as well as big game hunters.
Established in 1861, Zuurberg not only survived the Boer
War, but also natural disasters such as the great fire
in 1902 after which it was resurrected and restored to
its former glory.
 This
150 year old historical hotel, situated at the top of
the spectacular Zuurberg Pass & one hours drive from
Port Elizabeth, offers her guests elegance, style and
quality of a bygone era. Equipped to international standards,
